Bure Park Primary School

Learning, caring, growing, sharing

Head Teacher's Welcome

It is a pleasure to warmly welcome you to the Bure Park Primary School website. I do hope that you will find this informative, interesting and helpful.

We are extremely encouraged by the high regard in which the school is viewed within the local and educational community and it is with a sense of privilege and pride that I lead a dedicated, hardworking, friendly and approachable staff who work closely together as a team, as well as a team of enthusiastic and caring children, who have a keen sense of responsibility for the development of our school. The school enjoys valuable support from the parent body and the Board of Governors.

The school opened in January 2000 with 72 pupils and now has over 460. The school is very well resourced, through hard work and good financial management and the ongoing support of parents (where our PTA ‘Buddies’ team provide invaluable support.) The school facility is purpose built and stands within secure, sensitively landscaped, child friendly grounds which we constantly strive to develop and improve. These amenities will enable your child to access the very best Primary education.

We value very highly the strong links which have evolved between the school and the local community it serves and we regard education as a partnership between parents, teachers and children. Similarly we aim to forge strong links with the wider, and international, communities in order that your child can benefit from a wider range of learning experiences and opportunities. By continuing to work closely together, we aim to maintain a warm, friendly school environment, to underpin a stimulating, challenging learning experience in which your child will be able to reach his or her full potential and develop a high level of self-esteem. The progress of all pupils is closely monitored in order that detailed support, and challenge, can be appropriately addressed.

We provide a wide range of activities across the school which include special curriculum days and weeks; school clubs; wrap around care at the beginning and end of the day; residential and appropriate day visits and a wide range of social and fund raising events co-ordinated by our Buddies team. The performing arts, music, the arts, sport, P.E. and the international dimension are all valued highly here, and are all in turn underpinned by strong British values.

The school has a thriving House system where children are rewarded through credits which lead to House points. In addition, a number of school competitions and events, across a range of curriculum areas, are organised through the House system which has added an additional rich dimension to the life of the school.

At Bure Park, we are determined to maintain and build upon the high levels of success already achieved. We firmly believe that a rigorous, exciting, challenging and relevant curriculum will provide the very special learning experience, your child deserves. Our priority is to develop your child into a confident, well rounded, caring and independent individual who has a set of wide ranging skills that will help him/her to learn, work and play in an ever changing world and society – be a participator, a contributor, a team player, a happy, healthy, tolerant and respectful citizen.

Thank you for your interest and we look forward to welcoming you and your children to the school.
